Louver Doors in the Northwest

What a rewarding project this was! A hotel in downtown Seattle was ready for refurbishment. The owners wanted to start at the basement level and proceed floor by floor to renovate their hotel. Louver doors made out of English Walnut with a clear finish were specified. We looked at the plans and knew we could manufacture louver doors to their exact specifications. The quote was worked, hand-drawn detailed plans were submitted (the owner still likes to do them this way), and the doors were delivered on-time to be installed in December 2012 and look great! In the beginning I mentioned the project was rewarding because it was the first time to work with this particular builder, architect, and designer. The rewarding part comes when they entrust their vision to you and you are able to help make it happen.

Traditional Shutters in Seattle

If your home has a more traditional architectural flair your windows may look great with small louver shutters. When windows are shuttered with this design there are often multiple panels that fill the window allowing the homeowner to fold the shutters back. You can also close the shutters and adjust the louvers for light and privacy. The look is both graceful and sophisticated. We have recently completed a residence in Seattle where traditional shutters were used to compliment the furnishings and style of the house.

Shoji Screen in Seattle

A busy retired professional couple were ready to renovate their Bellevue condominium and add shutters to their windows. They chose Newport Shutters to craft these shutters and then as the project progressed asked if we could also make shoji screens. Our production facility in Redmond allows us to be able to size our own wood and do all our finishing inhouse. As a result we were well-equiped to make these beautiful shoji screens in addition to the shutters. They turned out superb!
